Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect when I sign up for private training?
We begin by setting up your initial in-home session. You will be sent forms to fill out prior to our meeting. The initial session is more discussion based as we address changes that may need to be made within the home. The appropriate program will be confirmed at the initial consultation.

Why use treats and will I always have to use them?
We all love a paycheck! That is what treats are for your dog…..a paycheck. In fact, any resource that your dog likes or needs can become a paycheck. We show you how to properly use resources to your advantage to get the behaviors that you want. Over time, we will show you how to wean your dog off of requiring these resources for every behavior. Let us show you the difference between a bribe and a paycheck!

Do you guarantee your work?
It is impossible to guarantee behavior of any kind. We can no sooner guarantee a dog’s behavior than to guarantee yours. The guarantees we make are the following: we will work our utmost to help build proper communication between you and your dog, we will never harm your dog, we will never give up on your dog!

How long will the training take?
Your dog is learning his entire life! The training never stops because behavior constantly changes. That is why we provide training for the life of your dog. Puppies, adolescent and adult dogs all have a place with our training programs. Never stop teaching your dog something new!
